Circuit design can generally be defined as the process of determining the physical form of an electronic circuit. It covers a wide range of systems, including complex electronic systems and individual transistors within an integrated circuit. Depending on the nature of the circuit, the circuit design in California designing can be done by one person or a team of designers. The following are the three major stages of Circuit Design in California.
Specification Stage
This is the initial stage of a formal circuit design process. In this stage, the customer gives a detailed description of what the circuit should achieve. This is usually in terms of the electrical requirements of the circuits, such as the power it will consume, the signals it will receive and the signals it will transmit. The specification will also indicate other parameters of the design such as weight, size, acceleration and vibration tolerance, thermal output, moisture resistance and the temperature range.
Once the customer has given their specification, a qualified designer from Caltronics Design and Assembly Inc. will review it to ensure that all the customer’s needs are achievable. Any changes or modifications to the customer’s original specifications must be approved by the customer before they are acted upon.
Design Stage
In the first stage of the design process, the customer’s specifications are converted into a block diagram that shows the various functions the circuit will perform. At this stage, the components of the blocks are not considered, only their specific functions.
In the second stage of the design process, the components of each block including their electrical connections and physical layouts are decided. A lot of research and mathematical remodeling is required to ensure that circuit meets the customer’s specification.
Verification and Testing Stage
After the circuit has been designed, it must be verified and tested. Verification entails going through the various stages of the design to ensure that they match the customer’s specification. Testing on the other hand entails building a prototype of the design to determine whether the circuit performs the expected functions properly.
There are other essential stages involved in the process of Circuit Design in California. However, with a good knowledge of the above three stages, you will certainly have a good understanding of a formal circuit design process.
