If you are entering your second or third year of college, it is time for you to decide if you want to stay in the dorms or move out into off-campus housing at the University of Maryland. Most people would say that it’s a better idea to move out and get your own place or get a place with a roommate. Here are three reasons you should stay in the dorms next semester.
1. You Don’t Want Privacy – Avoid moving into off-campus housing at the University of Maryland if you don’t want privacy. If you prefer sharing a room smaller than a studio apartment with another person and sharing your bathroom with 20 other people, the dorms are where it’s at. If you prefer less privacy, stay in the dorms.
2. You Want to Spend More – Renting off-campus housing is generally much cheaper than living in the dorms. Stay in the dorms if you don’t want to save money. One bonus of living in the dorms is you get to pay for a mandatory meal plan, whether you plan to use it or not.
3. You Want Lower Grades – Moving out of the dorms generally helps people raise their grades. If you aren’t concerned with improving your test scores or your ability to focus, live in the dorms next school year. It’s not your entire reason for going to school anyways.
