Prevent Limescale Accumulation at Its Source

by | Sep 10, 2014 | Water Treatment

Unsightly residue in showers and sinks is a sign that there is too high a metals density in tap water. If limescale starts to build, there are a few effective methods for treatment. Prevent limescale deposits from forming a water system with the installation of an electronic descaling system.

What is Limescale?

The ionization of calcium carbonate with other metals or surfaces is responsible for lime scale build-up. When white deposits form on taps, showerheads, and shower doors, it is a sign that your water supply is laden with metals. Lime scale is difficult to remove without chemicals. It is also accumulates in pipes and tubes of a building’s plumbing system, slowing down water flows to appliances.

Hazards of Limescale

The build-up of limescale in appliances not only makes machines run less efficiently; it costs substantially more in utility bills over time. Appliance breakage is a sign that corrosion and galvanization of pipes has already taken place. Rather than worry about the ruin of appliances before the end of product life cycle, installation of a descaling system will induce optimal tap water conditions once again.

Limescale occurs where hard water is present. As little as 6mm of limescale in a water supply, can reduce energy efficiency in a building by 40 percent. The same amount of limescale naturally accumulates in plumbing pipes or water heaters in under two years. Without mitigation, the result is that appliances corroding from limescale use more energy, and are more likely to break.

Preventing Limescale

Plumbers recommend that the best way to prevent limescale in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings is to install an electronic water descaling system. An alternative to conventional water softener systems, descaling systems prevent limescale by generating an electro-magnetic charge. Modulating wave frequencies transform the physical properties of metals molecules found in water by descaling or converting mineral ions so that they only adhere to water rather than pipes or surfaces.

The Remediation Solution

Electronic water descaling systems are computerized technology designed and engineered for water main installation. This means that control over the descaling process is conducted onsite. Once an electronic descaling system is installed, two coils are inserted into the main line; producing a powerful electro-magnetic charge in the water. The result is elimination of metal density causing limescale deposits at the molecular level.

Prevent limescale at the source. Electronic descaling stops limescale forming in a building’s water supply, mitigating deposits that would otherwise stick to pipes, appliances, or industrial equipment. Control the solubility of tap water with the continuous treatment of an electronic descaler. Eliminate hard water with by reducing the saturation levels of mineral ion synthesis. It is easy to prevent limescale with electronic descaling.
