Fiji Offers Something for Everyone

For travelers seeking to get away from it all via South Pacific vacations, some of the packages available for tours of Fiji are hard to miss. An increasingly popular destination for South Pacific vacations in Fiji is Navala Village, located in the highlands. One of the last remaining villages on the island that still has structures built with traditional materials, the houses feature walls built from bamboo and thatched roofs. They are single-room buildings, although kitchens and toilets are usually attached on the property in the back of each structure. Tourists who come to Navala Village are greeted in a traditional ceremony.

Other attractions on Fiji include an exploration of the Navua River, visiting Bouma National Park, and partaking of the Nananu-i-Ra Day Tour. Visiting many of these locations can add definite energy to South Pacific vacations and create memories that make an impression on children that will last a lifetime.

The Navua River offers white water rafting for the more adventurous traveler, as well as cruises along the river in motorized canoes or rafts made of bamboo. Along the route, your family can partake of numerous sites, including lush floral ecosystems in the tropical rainforest, gorges with steep rock walls and high tree-lined cliffs, waterfalls, and more, all leading to small traditional Fiji villages.

Bouma National Park is located on a northern Fiji island named Taveuni, featuring tropical rain forests, high mountain precipices and rims, volcanic crests, and tall cliffs that seemingly plunge into the azure waters of the sea. Two trails feature three different waterfalls and a peaceful walk, but hikes through the bush require an experienced guide and may be preferable for the more experienced backpacker or hiker.

Nananu-i-Ra Island is located some distance from the northern coastline of Viti Levu, and only two hours from the airport. A small boat carries tourists on South Pacific vacations 10 minutes across Ellington Wharf. The island features a full day of swimming on two lovely beaches, snorkeling, and light hiking. Body, wind, and kite surfing are popular activities on the windy beach, as well.

Fiji is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in all of the South Pacific. Vacations to Fiji can consist of customized packages that include various tours, as well as days spent at resorts and spas that appeal to certain sensibilities, as well as opportunities for hiking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and appreciating the native culture. Surfing, sailing, and fishing are also popular activities on the island. Fiji has something for everyone in the family and is one of the most affordable and generous destinations for South Pacific vacations.
