Cosmetic Dentists Can Bring Back Your Smile

For many people, their smile is a source of embarrassment. Missing, chipped or discolored teeth all contribute to a sense of self-consciousness which sadly stops a smile. However, cosmetic dentistry may be an option to assist in bringing back a happy smile for those who miss being able to do so. Cosmetic Dentists have a lot of available options that can accomplish this goal.

One of the easiest and least expensive ways to achieve a brighter smile is by teeth whitening. Although consumer products are available to complete this task, they are not as fast or effective as what a dentist visit can achieve. The process involves either the dentist applying a solution to a few teeth at a time, which can tale several visits. Or, a special tray is molded to fit the patient’s teeth so that it can be worn a few hours per night for up to six weeks.

Chipped and broken teeth can be repaired using a process called bonding, in which a resin is used to repair the teeth. It involves no pain, and in most cases, it only takes one visit. A more durable and attractive approach is the application of porcelain veneers, which act as thin covers for the front of teeth. Uneven teeth can be fixed up with a process called enamel shaping. This eliminates the look of teeth that may be longer than others.

Crooked teeth are normally treated with braces. However, orthodontic braces are not just for children. Adults may also benefit from their application. The metal mouth of yesterday is almost forgotten, as today’s appliances have less visibility and more effective wiring and brackets. In the past, lost teeth were simply replaced with either a bridge or dentures. However, dental implants are an effective option. Fake, realistic teeth are attached into a patient’s jaw. They are costly because this is a surgery; however, the benefit is that they almost indistinguishable from natural teeth.

There is no reason to have to live with bad teeth, whether they are the result of genetics, disease, accidents, or improper care. A dentist at  will not judge you for this, as it is their job to make better smiles. Many people spend large sums of money on vehicles that they may only have for 5 years. However, a good smile is an investment for life.
