Most of us have heard something about the Virgin Islands and maybe that has had the effect of making us think that they are reserved for the rich and famous. Today; tourism and offshore finance are the main activities for the area in general and the British Virgin Islands (BVI) have all the facilities anyone could wish for on a tropical island vacation.
Four Main Islands
The BVI comprises the largest island Tortola plus 3 other main islands Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke along with some 50 or so smaller islands (more than 30 are uninhabited). With the US Virgin Islands to the west and a whole chain of Caribbean islands to the south; the area is perfect for cruising – anything from smaller yachts up to the big cruise liners.
