It’s likely that when you think of visiting an Affordable Orthodontist in Irving, Texas, that you think that you’re going to get the worst care possible. After all, orthodontics is one of the most expensive types of dental care available today. However, just because you’re going with an affordable orthodontist doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice on the care that you receive, you should expect the same level of service and expertise that you would get from a more expensive service. Here are some things that you can expect at your first orthodontist visit.
Meet with an Expert
One of the first things that you’re going to do is meet with an expert in the field of orthodontics. This could be an actual doctor or one of the assistants that work in the office. During this meeting, you will discuss what you expect to get from your braces as well as discuss your concerns about getting braces.
Evaluation
The next step will be your evaluation. This is where you should meet the doctor for the first time. He or she will visually inspect your teeth, gums and mouth to see that everything is in order. At this point an assistant will step in and take your for x-rays, mouth molds, pictures and more. This process helps to determine what kind of braces you need, how long you’ll need to wear braces and determine if you need extractions or other medical treatments before you get started.
Contract
Once you’ve had your evaluation, the office will schedule you for another visit. In this visit you will sit down with an admin and go over the contract for your braces. This meeting will include a discussion of what you need to do to take care of your braces. The doctor may also come in and determine what kind of correction system you will need (Invasline, ceramic braces, behind the teeth braces, etc.).
Attachment
Once you’ve signed the contract, you can get the braces attached to your teeth. In some cases this will occur the same day that you get your braces. In other instances, you will need to make another appointment – often, this is up to you.
Seeing an Affordable Orthodontist in Irving doesn’t mean you sacrifice for your care. You should expect the same quality treatment no matter where you go!
